Dizauregi Kebbi State Cluster Commemorates World Girl Child Day with Sanitary Pad Distribution and Hygiene Awareness Campaign

Location: Junior Day Secondary School, Gamji, Zuru, Kebbi State

In celebration of World Girl Child Day, the Dizauregi Support Foundation (DSF) Kebbi State Cluster organized an impactful outreach program at Junior Day Secondary School, Gamji, in the Zuru area of Kebbi State, Nigeria.

The project focused on sanitary pad distribution and talks on personal hygiene, aimed at promoting menstrual health awareness and boosting the confidence of young girls in school.

During the session, the DSF team educated students on the importance of personal hygiene, menstrual health management, and breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation. The open and interactive discussions encouraged the girls to ask questions, share experiences, and gain practical knowledge on how to maintain their well-being during their monthly cycles.

As part of the program, sanitary pads were distributed to the students to ensure they have access to basic menstrual care products — a small but vital step in supporting the education and dignity of the girl child.

The event highlighted DSF’s ongoing commitment to empowering young girls through education, health awareness, and community support. By addressing sensitive topics like menstrual hygiene, the Foundation continues to advocate for the rights and well-being of girls in schools and rural communities.

This initiative reinforces Dizauregi’s mission to create a society where every girl has the opportunity to stay healthy, remain in school, and reach her full potential.
